FLAVA's Fall Conference, Rooted in Language, will be held October 9-11, 2025 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. Please use the form below to register for the conference.
Registration Dates: Early Bird Registration ends on August 31st, 2025 at 11:59pm EST. Regular Registration will run from September 1st through September 30th 2025. Onsite registration will be available at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott from October 9-11, 2024.
Meals: Registrations made prior to September 30th, 2025 at 11:59pm EST will include lunch on Friday and breakfast on Saturday. If you register after September 30th or onsite, your registration will not include meals.
*Comprehensible Classroom Workshop: FLAVA is excited to pair with Comprehensible Classroom to bring to our members a workshop taking place Saturday afternoon. The title of the workshop is Teach for Acquisition. A description can be found below!
The transition away from teaching language courses based on a traditional grammar syllabus requires a shift in thinking as well as a shift in instruction. In this workshop, attendees will consider both the theoretical basis for Proficiency Oriented, Comprehension Based teaching and its practical application. Attendees will explore these concepts through interactive demonstrations and shared work time to consider what to implement.
